Boston vs. JFK Winter Storm

The New York Times released a very interesting article about why Boston was able to cope with the January Bomb Cyclone significantly better than JFK Airport. Boston handled it relatively well with delays and cancelations one day and being on a regular schedule the next, while JFK was struggling with more and more flights being delayed for several days.

  1. Do you think this will lead to change in JFK's organizational structure?

And what do you believe this signals for future growth in Boston?

  2. I do not know, but there will probably be some change. As for Boston, I believe airlines see it as a bonus of operating at Boston, but it is unlikely that would be a large factor for the airlines to increase/start service at Boston.
