TAP Air Portugal adding service to the Azores

TAP Air Portugal has announced a new route from Boston Logan Airport. The airline intends to offer service to Ponta Delgada, Azores Islands, Portugal from Boston. Beginning June 4th, 2020, the route will be operated five times weekly on an Airbus A321neoLR during the summer season and three times weekly throughout the winter season. The flight will depart Ponta Delgada at 16:15 and arrive in Boston at 17:20, while the return flight will depart Boston at 22:30 and will arrive in Ponta Delgada at 07:20 the next day. Currently, this route is served by Azores Airlines, I am interested to see whether both airlines will be able to operate this route profitably, or will we see an airline back down.
