American Airlines adds London Route

Just as it started to seem as if American Airlines was giving up on its routes out of Boston, while allowing Delta to grow, American Airlines has announced its own transatlantic route from Boston, just over 2 years since the airline canceled its last transatlantic flight from Boston. Beginning March 28, 2020, American Airlines will begin to fly daily from Boston to London-Heathrow on a Boeing 777-200ER. The flight will depart Boston at 19:30 and arrive in London-Heathrow at 07:30. The return flight will depart London at 09:35 and arrive in Boston at 12:35. The addition of this flight means that Boston will have 10 flights per day to London as of next summer, and this is all before JetBlue adds its planned route to Boston! British Airways will have 4 flights per day to London-Heathrow, American Airlines will have 1 flight per day to London Heathrow, Virgin Atlantic will have 2 flights per day to London-Heathrow, Delta will have 1 flight to London-Heathrow as well as 1 flight to London-Gatwick per day and Norwegian will fly 1 flight to London-Gatwick per day. Good luck to American Airlines on its new flight to London, I am excited to see what else the airline has planned for Boston!

The interesting thing about the new flight is that it will be a day flight, departing Boston in the morning and arriving in London in the evening and returning late at night and staying at the airport overnight, as opposed to the majority of flights that leave Boston in the evening and arrive in Europe in the morning. Primera Air Boeing 757 Use

Primera Air- the small airline is planning to launch low-cost flights to London-Stansted in May and Paris-Charles de Gaulle in June. The airline was planning to start the route using the A321neo and A321LR, but due to delays with the aircraft production the airline will not be able to launch the route using the A321neo, as a result, the airline will wet-lease Boeing 757s to operate the route instead, until the A321neos are delivered and launch service with the carrier. The route will be flown with the Boeing 757 from May 18, 2018, on the inaugural flight until May 28, 2018, when the airline plans to transition to the A321neo. Primera Announces Frankfurt

Primera Air has been on a roll with two new routes from Boston in the past two weeks. The airline is continuing their additions by adding another new destination from Boston- Frankfurt. Beginning July 17, 2019, the airline will inaugurate the route a Boeing 737 MAX 9 flying the route 4 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flight is scheduled to leave Frankfurt at 18:00 (local time) and land in Boston at 20:35 (local time). The return flight is scheduled to leave Boston at 22:05 (local time) and will land in Frankfurt at 11:20 +1 day (local time). This new route intrigues me because, put simply, this is not a market that I expected Primera Air to enter. Frankfurt is primarily a business destination and a connecting hub for Lufthansa. There aren't too many people who travel between Boston and Frankfurt as leisure travelers. I say this because low-cost carriers are usually targeting vacationers.
